A short account of where we started, and what we still believe matters.
ERIC OTIENO ODHIAMBO began after one of our founders spent a year watching a talented reporter lose months of work to a laptop that simply wasn't backed up, and to notes nobody else could make sense of. It wasn't a lack of skill. It was a lack of structure that nobody had ever taught.
We started small, in Nakuru, working directly with reporters who publish independently and don't have an editor down the hall to catch these things. That's still who we work with today.
What drives us is fairly plain: journalism that people can trust needs a paper trail behind it, and that trail deserves the same care as the story itself.
